Power Supply Unit (PSU) Failure and Replacement
All modern computers have power supply unit's (PSU), whether they are Desktop PC's or
indeed Laptop Computers.  Laptops tend to have an external unit which a lot of people
commonly refer to as a charger, however it is used primarily for powering the laptop and also
charges the battery if the battery can in fact retain a charge.

computer, including the motherboard, high end graphics cards, hard drives, dvd drives and
blu-ray drives.

When power supplies fail in the case of a desktop, damage can be caused to the motherboard
and other components.  The symptoms can vary but most commonly the computer will appear
to be dead and will not switch on at all; however in some instances some fans may spin and
some lights may come on.  With laptops, the first sign would be that the laptop is no longer
